One thing for sure, in these regions, if TSHTF, the rodents, cockroaches, along with the stray dog/cat, population will jump drastically. All that food layng around, in the winter...Frozen entre's. 😈

Humanure is used quite extensively in Asia. Don't be surprised if the rice your buying from China and possibly other Asian nations isn't fertilized during growth by human crap.
I wonder if in most places, collecting the dead and burning them wouldn't be an option? IIRC that was what happened historically was it not?

it takes a LOT of wood to burn a body, i forget the "number" but so many BTU's etc. it's a big waste of fuel.
