Hey Wayne, I change clothes every seasons. I also change my water bottles and go over everything to ensure everything is in good shape.

Like smoke detectors, I change batteries in my flashlights twice a year (or throw them in the charger) and cycle my food and meds.

I also add things like bug spray and sunscreen this time of year.

I have a winter tote for full time use in the winter and I have a winter and summer back pack kit, I switch out the backpacks. That way other then freshening them, I do not change them up much. There is a different kit to a point for short local trips, in the commute vehicle, vs the backpack and kit that is loaded in for longer trips.

One is meant to hold you for shorter time, and to re-fill update a kit that would have been taken from work and then ideally topped up if needed at the car on the way home. The longer trip one has a lot more food, gear and so forth..

Very much so, I live in an area that does the big temp swings. BC interior . I'll keep my Alpha liner but ditch the negative temp gear, throw in bug juice and sunscreen. No need for a block heater (toque) but a sun hat with neck shade is advised, but i still would be able to manage a night or two out of my bag before I think im really in it. But if I plan on going off grid for a few days The box goes in the buggy.

Three packs in the vehicle. Office pack to get home if unable to reach vehicle, city to home pack and far away to home pack. All have socks and underwear. Water is changed out three times a year, meds as expiration's dictate. Bug dope is changed out per season, have one cloths bag in vehicle for all seasons and would draw from that and pop into bag per season. -50F Sleeping bag in car from fall to April, then summer bag. Charge up mini battery packs for phone charger four times a year so they are in peak shape.
