With Blackberry now using the Android OS, it has opened up a whole new world in smart phone apps.

This is what I'm using now:

Alert5: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.littlewildebeestsoftware.alert5.app

Anyone else have any great apps? Any better ones out there? There are a tonne on Google Playstore, Amazon, Blackberry World...but many of them are crap. But if anyone has some good ones, I'm all ears.
(Sorry...don't know anything about Apple or ios...but if there are cross platform apps that would be interesting.)

Hey Crownsown, I use one similar. It's the Red Cross Ready app. Though it's only natural disaster notifications. I also keep the Red Cross first aid app.
For my preps (as well as my household goods) I use the Encircle app. Normally it's to keep records of my possessions, but I made 'Preppers Pantry' room on it and I use that to keep records of my food storage. What I have, how much, and when my staple items were harvested and when I packed them.
Though food dates aren't an official function of the app (I did send them a recommendation to include it), it does allow you to keep notes of each item so I put my dates there.

I used one similar on bb10, but this requires an account which keeps records on a cloud. So if you lose your phone in an emergency the info can be recovered from another computer

Thanks for the info, Crownsown - I've added that Alert 5 app. I use Canadian Red Cross Be Ready which has first aid info, and Ready from same, which does alerts & has disaster/hazard advice.
