I am a junk yard junkie, I could spend huors in a junk yard thinking of all the stuff that I could make out of scraps that most people throw out. Especially all those leaf springs and spring steel.

My daughter still makes fun of me for all my late night dumpster diving for old windows, metal tubing, foam padding, fresnel lenses (in projection TV's) and the like.
Don't forget the Princess Auto surplus section.

Storage space in Calgary runs one about $9 per foot. While my father was a junk yard junker, I have had to throw out over 100 cubic yards of "salvage" saved from years worth of construction projects and demolitions. So I guess you can thank the likes of me for keeping your treasure troves well stocked. 😉

I'm not allowed to do that any more - I'm envious.
I also had to terminate my association with many many years of treasure hunting by a power greater than I - the Wife.

I'm old, tired and crotchety - what's your excuse???
