This one jug they say will last a family of 4 for a few years, buy a replacement filter and you will be good for a while. I realize its expensive but I consider this a solution to any water issue we may face. I have other filters for my bob. However this would work better and longer and isn't as vonerable. I think this would be an excellent investment.
Just an interesting note about water on a recent BeWellBuzz podcast...
Water that sits stagnant for more than an hour loses its 'electrical charge' and isn't fully utilized by the body. To rectify this simply shake the water for a couple of seconds or pour back and forth between two cups a number of times.
This imitates the natural flow of water in a stream.
We collect our drinking water each week fresh from a stream coming out of a National Park and what we have noticed is that the water is a lot more refreshing when we drink some direct from the stream, so we have started to shake our water now before drinking.
I get very skeptical, when any company makes a claim, that big. what kind of testing did they do, was it over time or all at once. I'm sorry but even activated charcoal starts to lose efficiency after first contact with water and contaminants. :geek:

Funny that it's the same procedure to put oxygen back into stagnant water or stuff that's been frozen to get rid of that flat taste. I smell scam.
A Berkey filter will do the same thing as this jug for less money. You can get at the filter to clean it when it gets clogged with particles to restore flow. A Berkey filter can also be properly dried for intermittent use. Replacement filters are a lot cheaper.
Hey Perfesser, Glad to hear from you again.

Salute Ranger. Life has been .....overwhelming lately.
I found this after looking at disaster relief products. I honestly don't know how it work and yes they make big claims. I email the company and they offer a money back guarantee they also have a few video pitching these products to government and military that are providing disaster relief. In the email I was told they have been using them for the last 10 years with tremendous success. I don't know personally just put it out there for people to come to their own conclusions.

If you can get hold of the dome style carbon filters (best in my books) you can make your own with 2- 5 gallon food pails, both with lids. 1 filter is good, 2 is better (more flow). Measure the out spout diameter of the filter, and put a hole, just slightly larger in the bottom of the top bucket. insert filter and use a gasket (or "O" ring) with teflon washer and nut. and there you have a berkley type filter. Cut ajoining holes on the top lid of the bottom holding pail and you might also want to put a teflon/plastic tap at the bottom. The Dome type of filter is the best, mainly because as the water goes down the long filters tend to be above the water level after a while.
What I would sugest would be to past the water thru a paper or micromesh coffee filter first, to increase life of charcoal filter(less cloging). :geek:

I think I may have to try that. If you have one built can you take some pics and post for us?
Yes sir, I like this idea. When I get finished guiding these hunters this week I am going to do this............... as soon as I can get all of the parts lined up.
Let no good deed go unpunished.
