Welcome Zackimb and greetings from Northern Ontario, Canada. I am afraid I can't help you out with your question as dress codes are different everywhere. You say the dress code just changed. Why not consult it and see what is says now?

Zackimb - I don't know much about it but my new daughter-in-law wore white moccasins (that she made) with her wedding dress! So I vote that moccasins are considered formal shoes!
