Here's a link to yesterday's episode of The Survival Podcast.
In this one, Jack explains all about the shotgun. It's versatility and uses along with different actions, chokes, and ammunition.
A great listen for those who are considering their first survival weapon.

Wait, what? PA Shotguns are banned in Australia? How did they justify that? I can't really imagine myself hunting without a PA.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that listens to Spirko. I hate to say it, but that guy tends to keep me from getting downright silly crazy into the survivalist thing...as you can appreciate, one could get sucked into it pretty badly and get a tad carried away, am I right?!
I'm quite disappointed there aren't any Canadian versions of this show. I'd really like to suggest that someone with a decent voice (not me) in Canada have a go at a survival show! Who knows, maybe it'll make you famous.
If there are shows from Canadian, and I haven't clued into them and someone would like to point them out that would be fantastic!

Darnit!
I just went to the PPRN website to get you thee link to my old show, but I guess it's been so long, they took it down.
I really want to get a show going again, but you wouldn't believe how much work actually goes into it.
I really have to hand it to JS doing a show 5 days a week. I couldn't keep it up and I was only on air for one hour a week!
Still working on it though...maybe soon again!

Port Arthur in Tas-golia (sorry tassie-ites) was the catalyst that gave them the necessary legislation to start the disarming of the population.
It would be over 10 years ago now. In an amnesty/buyback.
It was a sad day when I turned my old favourite Bently PA in at the local police stn.
It was when an amnesty was in place with a buy-back in place.
We did mention previously in various posts that they are trying desperatly to disarm us all here.
You even need an ID as proof now to buy a knife if memory serves me correctly at sports/disposal stores now - not sure if this is in all states or just a few - yet!!!
I'm old, tired and crotchety - what's your excuse???
There's often talk of a time without rule of law. I suspect we're more likely to have excessive rule of law. Jack at the survival podcast was talking about this and I tend to agree.
Strangely enough for all their other stupidity our government has repealed the gun registry. A great victory for liberty.
But back on topic....... with the vast array of loads available if you could only have one gun it would have to be a 12 ga shotgun.
Take away guns and all that a person has is a knife/hammer/bat etc. Personally I would rather die by gunshot than blows to the head and body by a blunt weapon/sports equipment.
I really have to agree about the choice of gun being a shotgun if you could only have one. I can't recommend the Remington 870 express enough, with it's ability to switch out barrels and take all three shell sizes. It's also equipped to have screw in/out choke tubes right out of the box, although I believe nowadays that's a standard feature with shotguns.
I strongly believe where I live it will be a case of excessive rule of law over rule without law. And since its one of the basic exercises to plan for what may happen, it's one of the things I'm very concerned about.
I also confess that I'm not up to date on issues around the world. I know that there is sections here that talk about things in other countries and I'm quite guilty of not really paying any attention to anything if it's not Canadian. Even then, I'm the type that cares more about Ontario - and even my region over the rest of the province at that. I suppose it's the whole "worry about your own backyard" mentality. Its not that I don't think that the problems in other areas aren't as important, its more like it's too far away for little ol' one person me to effect in any manner.
