Does anyone have one, and if so, is it any good?

Have one, totally awesome, and I abuse mine hard.

I have used it to pry, jumping with my entire weight on it, both on the wrecking bar and hammer ends, without even the slightest bend.
Surprising to me is how well the rubber grip has held up over time.
I carry one in my tool box at work, and one in my truck.
My only complaint is that as a hammer it is slightly unwieldy but it gets the job done.

You can also google modifications people have made to them for entry tools, and other specific tasks.

Phuqd - have you ever used it to twist 2x's when framing?

I can't say that I have.
I am a steel trades worker, but the jaw is certainly large enough you could fit one in, and the it is very easy to get leverage.
That being said, I would highly recommend wearing gloves when using it, as the wrecking bar end cover is lost quickly, and is sharp enough to some serious damage to your hand.

I carry one in my truck, and have used it on a couple shed tear downs...works pretty decently, as a multi purpose tool, hence why I keep it in my truck, as seems to good to have in a picnch.

Good enough for me. I'll pick one or two up when they're half price at Canadian tire. Everything will be 50% off eventually at ct

Great piece of kit!!!! I am a professional firefighter, have used and abused many times and have yet to see one fail. Only limit is your imagination.

Another tool that is great is a Force Rescue Tool. You can get them through Acklands, a little on the pricey side, but it is an amazing tool.

I searched the Acklands Grainger website and I rubbed the belly of the Google but could not find a "Force Rescue Tool"... too many things on google have one of those 3 words it seems.

can you direct me to a link please?

We used them in OBUA/FIBUA/MOUT quite a bit. the small ones are heavy, but worth it when you have to move from one room to the next, but can't use the hallway.

Here is what they look like. I looked at the Acklands online catalogue and can't find them either. But I know they used to carry them cause I've ordered them before.

Here is another one on Acklands that is very similar to the Force Rescue Tool. Like I said, they are pricey.

for the record the type of tool you guys are discussing is called a "Pry Axe". if you google it there are many brand names for that tool type 🙂

See you all after.
