I saw some tv series that describe the process of making penicillin (not sure if I post this in the right place).
I was hoping to get some doctors/chemists,etc oppinions about how complete/accurate the videos really are and if they can be used as a guide.
The first is the japanese "JIN" series (2009) (the important part starts at 2'20) and the second is the korean version made this year (starting at about 8'30). Both series tell roughly the same story, about a surgeon that is transported back in time to 1860s.
Here are the links from the said tv series:

Any oppinion would be much appreciated, as I'm very interested to know the degree of realism in the medical part of the series.
Not sure about the videos, but here is an article by Dr.Bones & Nurse Amy on how to make penicillin at home.

Sorry for responding so late.
Thank you for the link. I checked this out, seems a little too complicated (as a list of different substances to gather from different sources and as a process as a whole) but who knows. There may be no quick fixes for such a serious matter anyway...

I'm pretty sure that the process will no longer be too complicated if that particular batch of penicillan saves your life or the life of a loved one. Our group has a nurse who is currently experimenting with the formula to see if it really works and if she can get it pure enough for use. I'll keep you posted on the results.

Very interesting and I'm definately eager to hear more about the results.
