😀 This is a great time of the year for me.. I love the bush and finding those deer..

Is anyone else going out with their bow and filling the freezer?? three White tail and a Elk Is my goal.. BUT the Elk might be later on during the rifle season.

Hello there...I too will be taking part in the pursuit of while tail here in Ontario, but not till November rifle season. In the meantime I will be upland and waterfoul hunting to prime the freezer. Good hunting and be safe.

Backwoods....

Bow season starts Oct 1 in Ont. But it is time to start some target work with the crossbow.

Going to get my crossbow on one of my days off this week. Also going to get some clothes, scent-stuff, and a call or two. I have a doe bleat and a buck grunt, so I guess I will get a rattle call. Got any tips? It'll be my first year hunting. I've got a good idea where they'll be since I;ve been running around the woods for years here.

Great season this year! I saw several deer (just out of range just before the 1st Ontario controlled hunt) and then took my daughter on the Sunday before the December controlled hunt and we drilled a nice spike buck at 20yrs!

Still have 1 tag to go and 3 weeks......looking good!!!

P.S. Out group went 3deer for 4 guys in the November controlled hunt as well

I've just had a season of bad luck. Either all does, bad shots, or the farm dog chasing them away... I know we've got a big ole 12 pointer, and a load of good smaller bucks, just can't get a break! I even tried squirrel hunting (season closes tomorrow!), and of course, someone let the dog out, and they're hiding from the snow. With any hope I'll get something! I've got two deer tags. Next year I'm applying for a doe tag!
