I'm from Ontario and came across this site after having issues with getting guys to back off when I told them their behaviour is unwelcomed repeatedly. I've been involved with youth military programs for years and know a good amount of things to do if I ever needed to survive in the wilderness. I'm generally good with survival off the land or in the case of some disaster/emergency. I keep emergency supplies at home, I always carry an emergency roadside kit in my car, etc.
Recently, an old neighbour of mine from my old building (who is probably about 10 years older than me) sent me a picture of his junk to my cellphone. He has asked me to go on dates with him for approx. 6 months on and off since he knew I was no longer with my boyfriend before he sent the picture. I have tried to keep things civil when I turn him down because all my mail hasn't turned over to my new address yet and I have to get some of my mail at my old building where this guy lives still. I tend to run into him whenever I go there to get mail, funnily enough..
I know how to take care of myself in a survival situation that does not involve me protecting myself from other humans. The legal ramifications that come up in Ontario for carrying things like mace (which would be completely fine if I was out camping/fishing/hiking/hunting) are new to me. I found this forum when looking for legal ways to protect myself from someone if the need ever arose. I also hope to maybe be a source of good advice and information for overall emergency preparedness/survival. I used to be a landscaper/gardener and know a lot about edible/poisonous plants.
Well, that's my story. I look forward to being an active and informative member here! 🙂
Hi, nevy
Welcome to the site.
Sounds like you have quite the situation to deal with there, hope it turns out alright.
Looking forward to your info about edible/poisonous plants.
Yup, and oops on the inappropriate language. Had a brain fart there. Thx, I never thought I'd find a forum like this. I'm also not a bad fisher. 🙂
Hi Nevy, good for you for taking the inititive to protect yourself. You seem like a very resourceful sort, a good person to have around.
Welcome to an great forum.
