We are an existing homestead, multi-generational from 1887 to present time. We are the only producer as far as I know in the world of Wild Black Currant. We have modified several vehicles to operate on propane, some of them are four times more economical operating on propane than on gasoline. We heat 2,800 square ft home in the winter for approximately 100$ a month on coal. The workshop which has a 2,000 square ft heated working area is heated as well on coal again approximately 100$ a month. We are on a stand of old growth timber on the original homestead with the only logging done the dead and dying have been removed. At the present time we are looking to bring like minded people together even perhaps hosting seminars on weekends to bring preppers together. Keep in mind we are not looking for financial contributions or for any one to incur costs for these get-togethers. If you are interested please feel free to contact us or check out our website.

Where are you located?
No, we didn't receive any bison from the Base. We are actually located about 40 miles North West of Edmonton. We are looking to bring together a group of preppers for a weekend retreat at the ranch, are you interested?
Hey there Keeper, and welcome to the forum. Really miss the weekly show on PPRN...
Yes we kinda miss it too, but John the producer of the show in the United States informed me that he felt that there was no one listening to our show. We would really like to bring a group of preppers together for a weekend get together to see what we can do collectively. At the present time we had been contacted by a documenter who would like to do a show on prepping in Canada and would like me to try and bring people together to meet with him and his producer. Thank you for following our show if enough people contact John on the Prepper Podcast Network perhaps we can be back on the air. Thank you again Denob.
I have also been contacted by the same documenter...sounds like something I really want to be involved in. I would rather be giving my input and helping out with the show than have it turn into a Canadian version of Doomsday Preppers.
Yes, he contacted me as well, due to my post to his on the forum. I have some requirements thought, OPSEC is very important and some making sure I am quoted correctly. Anything taken out of context can make you into a hilly billy hick survivalist nut, or you can come across quite nicely and impressive. The editing and putting together of the show can make or break the documentary for Preppers.
Any and all people involved from Alberta in this documentary it will be made very clear to the people producing the documentary that those involved will have the opportunity to be in the documentary or not as they choose. We will also make it clear that it is essential we have the final say in how we are presented as a group. I also have no desire to come across as a hill billy or raving lunatic.
Wow, wish I had realized you were there when I was living in NE Edmonton...I have since moved back to the 'wet' coast. Your homestead and concept is amazing!
I really hope they do something great with the documentary, it could be educational for so many and a good introduction to basic prepping for people who previously had not given much thought to it. Even the title of 'doomsday prepper' was a negative for the NG one.( Brings to mind camo-clad gun-toting survivlist huddling in bunkers...)
We have an extensive infrastructure and would be glad to share our home with others , so keep us in mind paintergirl if you desside to come back this way . I am of the opinion if we build it they will come , or even better lets build it together. Pleas keep in mind we are not looking for financial assistance ,just like minded people.
Welcome keeper, nice web sit.
Hmmm thinking,, thinking...
