Hello Guys

I own a Tactical Training School that focus on hand to hand combat / self defense trainings in Vancouver, BC. The system of our choice is Krav Maga.
Both the other instructor and I trained in Israel and have extensive military and shooting experience. We know our craft and Krav. 😉

I am a strong advocate on trainings over & before tools. You can own all the fancy self defense tools or weapons but
without proper training and conditioning, it means nothing. In addition, you mind not be accessible to your tools in crisis. Your mind, body and skill are the best defense against any situation.

We also do risk assessment and teach tactical shooting courses.

Also for those local to Ottawa and thinking of getting their Pal, you have courses on it.. we get asked at least a couple times every few months on the board or at the live meets, now we have at least one member active on the board that offers this, hopefully at some point in the near future, we can get a review as well

Our IDF Tactical Rifle Level 01 course is based on rifle drills and tactics from Israeli Defense Forces and Canadian Army. Course candidates will learn the fundamental drills of rifle shooting and handling. They will use these skills as foundation for small arms combat & defense. Rifle drills of Israel Defense forces are straight forward and simple just like Krav Maga. Under extreme stress, people tend to lose their fine motor control and rely on gross motor control to fight out of dangers. IDF tactical rifle courses teach you how to fight with your rifle not merely just how to shoot your rifles.
Course will cover:
1. Basic Rifle Marksman principles
2. Shooting position - standing, prone, kneeling & transition from each position.
3. Reload & Tactical Reload
4. stoppage drills
5. Zeroing ( Method of Adjustment ) - basically teach you how to adjust sight on a rifle. If you don’t know how to do that, your aim will always be OFF
6. Ballistic Affect on Metal Plate and different objects ( 5.56 x 45 mm and 7.62 x 39 mm)
7. engaging numerous targets in different distance.
8. Press check drill
Cost: $ 350. Include Rifle ( CZ 858 ) & 300 rds 7.62 x 39 mm AMMO

What Krav Maga association do you belong to?

no association.

I was a former IKMF G2 instructor. The other instructor is CT 707 Instructor under Nir Maman and he also learn some Krav Maga while serving in IDF.
We find being under one org limited your horizon in Krav Maga. I don't think any association can cover the full picture of Krav Maga. Every association has its strong suit; KMG, IKMF, IKMA, KMWW, KMF .....Itay Gil, Nir Maman.....the basic foundation of Krav Maga does not change but approach to different situation is very different.

Great website btw. Well laid out.

Can you clarify. You were G2 in IKMF, or instructed G2? G2 is a green belt so I'm assuming you had an E ranking or instructed from a G2 level?

CT 707 is Nir's company. He is an exceptional soldier and I hear his credentials are legit. A real amazing instructor and fighter. The other instructor you mentioned has a teacher's certificate from him or did some training at CT707? I didn't quite understand. Looked at your bio's and saw the military service, but didn't quite understand the martial arts/krav maga training.

I've never heard anyone state the KM associations limited one's horizon. Just the opposite. I'm always curious when I see another KM group start up. And to be honest, a little wary. Without the trademark of the term Krav Maga and with it's new found popularity in today's culture all kinds of groups are popping up marketing themselves as Krav Maga. I'm not stating that's you, but you look at CKM, or Wood's, etc. and they are essentially fighting systems that pick up the "krav maga" name for marketing purposes. So I'm always curious at the exact credentials someone has. Its just the nature of that business and how the term "krav maga" has evolved.

I am curious about exact credentials though. Please don't take it in a bad way, they are just questions that help me figure out who is legit out there. It sounds like you guys know what your doing btw.

My friend
You have every right to inquire about my credentials. That is within your right as a student or fellow Kravi.
I am a G 2 Instructor with IKMF. I also held a leadership position in Asia. ( the detail I will share with you if you can tell me who you are )
I received my p -3 in Israel, Netanya ( 07), G 1 & Instructor Qual in Montreal ( 08 ), G 2 upgrade in Hong Kong ( 10 )
Jon has Nir Ct 707's Instructor certification and also a P 5 ( IKMF ).
Did you click the button of " Additional Information " under our BIO page on the website ?

You are right ! there are too many people jump on the train wagon of Krav Maga and want to make a big buck.
It is hard to find a legit place sometimes. In the end of the day, if a school is unwilling to clarify their qualification and use very vague term to describe their training, I would watch out. However, majority of students are too polite to inquire.
