We are a couple who is setting up our Homestead in Southern BC in the Creston Valley.

Trying to get set up for as much self sufficiency as realistically makes sense for now.

No municipal water, sewer, gas or propane. It's electricity and lots of firewood for us.

Have some fruit and nut trees which we currently share with bears in the fall and slowly building up the gardening.

Canned lots of peppers, some tomatoes, plums and grapes from the yard this year.

It's not all work, we built a wood fired hot tub in the yard for relaxation and to have another extra 750 gallons of unchlorinated water in storage.

Hello,
I am not much for on line forums. Looking for local people to meet and learn from.
I feel we are so centrally dependent on so many things, the way we live here, that one small failure of the things we take for granted, will leave us devastated. I feel like we are terribly vulnerable but ignoring it.
I don't want to ignore it. Besides preparing personally, I would like to be part of groups that encourage, on a large scale, actions and changes that protect us all.

Hello, I am in Guelph Ontario Canada. I dont call myself a prepper really, since I am an old lady, but I have sort of been one, since 2009, in that I have kept storing food and water and emergency supplies in my apartment. I know my situation probably wouldnt lend to my survival for long in a SHTF since I am alone and have no car and limited funds, but well, I wont go hungry for a long time. I will at least be eating well if say there was martial law and no one could go outside. I could survive for a while anyway, if the power goes out. I have supplies to survive short term power outages. Even if my own personal SHTF is that I cant afford to buy food, I have supplies to last me a long time. SO anyway I am happy to come here and check out the real preppers, see how you all are doing. Be blessed. Be prepared!
