I heard it working in the AM, then by afternoon I could no longer hear the buzz so I went to check on it and it was dead completely, not just not charging but not even anything on the display. Total failure...3.5 maybe 4 years old unit.
Right beside this one sits my 12-13 year old exantrex working away just fine. Hmmmm...I hit the reset button..nothing...unhooked all the wiring, then rehooked up everything and still nothing. A smell test indicates nothing has let out the shmoooo....
So I have sent off a email to Morningstar requesting the schematic and repair tips for the TS-60 so I can repair this unit..its Sunday so I don't expect a reply.
I got on the googler looking for repair info on these. I would have thought there would be a lot of info, as these units are very common but nothing, not even one youtube vid of a tear down and repair, in fact not even a single tear down video....I cant believe no one has taken one apart, if anyone comes across such a vid pm it to me please...
Now with that said, if there is no repair info or vids out there, then maybe I should make one, I would think such info would be important, these are so common....anyone else on here using one of these? At 250.00 dollars maybe people just buy a new one?

I couldn't wait, so I dived in without a schematic, long story short...it looks like its a minor problem, 6 high current surface mount diodes, 2 rows of 3. I cant make out the numbers on them with my old eyes so I emailed Morningstar requesting the part numbers for these, and asking if they would sell them to me....I will wait to hear back.tic toc tic toc.....
its hard to tell from the picture but those diodes are so small I could put all three on my thumb nail, and each one carries 20 amps of current. its amazing whats being done now days,it really is..

Wow, no one else is using these....I wont bother then to update further if it wont help anyone else...long story short....my unit was still under warranty....I declined warranty replacement in exchange for trouble shooting help. Was given lots of help, and part number crosses for board components. they wouldn't give me a schematic though... I was mistaken about the diode failure, those are diodes but there is more in each package than just a diode junction so standard diode junction testing gave a false positive for failure. Its all good as I learned something new.Good company to deal with, the unit is not made in China, failure most likely as I use equipment hard, within specs (mostly), but right to the rail. I will keep spare board repair parts in stock for these.
