Winter was coming fast, I was in a hurry, picked up 3 cubic yards of sand and 3000 pounds of patio bricks. I had to work the smart end of a spade in heavy clay before getting the ground level enough for starting adding the sand, by the way there is no smart end to a spade. Its smart to supervise others working a spade !!!! consider that, tip of the day.
all done and looking good just as the snow that will stay started to fall.
As a old geaser I expected to be sore as I completed the whole thing in 3 days, But damn every joint hurt...I gave myself a day and some alcohol therapy to heal up but my arms had a ache in them, and I wasn't felling right....After some time I recognized this as a precursor too the coming 2x4, swung by a gorilla across the chest...Puck not again I thought....but I am now experienced in such matters so as I start understanding whats happening, I get a couple asprin out and chomp down on them, Puck I say as the taste is horbile, and I mean really BAD, but whatever, figure I should give myself a blast of nitro spray before heading to the hospital but do you think I could find the stuff...no way...looked everywhere, then remembered it was in one of the trucks, That seemed to help so off I went to the big city.....but as I was going there I remembered last time they kept me in for 10 or 12 days, wouldn't even let me out of bed, or stand up for the first 5 days so how would I be able to go out and plug the meter for my truck? I came by ambulance last time as I had gone to a nearby local hospital, where I could park without charges and they sent me by ambulance to the big city. No charges accumulated, never had to worry about being towed, or charges acumulating. Now Though I am heading to the big city and wondering what I am going to do..... I call a friend in the city ....no answer....Puck I think. I call a taxi and give him the address of my friends place and tell him to meet me there. Another tip...always keep your friend payments up.
I arrive, the cab is outside waiting but no street parking is available......I jump the curb, and drive up onto my friends lawn. throw my keys in his mail box so he can move the truck later, and hop in the taxi for the trip to the hospital......What bullshit...there should be places at hospitals where you can park without worrying about such things as charges, or being towed!!......anyway....I had done the right thing eating asprin, and blasting nitro spray.. Im out shortly this time...I won the lottery in ravishing good looks, and above mensa smarts (jk), but not so much in hearts....I know the prognosis, even behaving myself (no smoking, no bacon, no drugs, reducing stress, eating right) Im not likely to be a burden on cpp. such is life.
my prognosis on eternal life is just like everyone else's..... 0
You were fortunate. I had a heart attack while I was waiting in an Emergency treatment room. I happened to be in the presence of the Staff Cardiologist and a Resident Cardiologist. Fortunately, they gave me the drain cleaner immediately, Unfortunately, I arrested. On the plus side they got me started again. Miraculously, there was no detectable heart damage. I was out of the hospital in less than 72 hours. The only pain I felt was a sore chest afterwards because of the CPR. I also had a headache from the nitro that someone had administered.
When I awakened, I saw the Cardiologist leaning over me. I smiled. I can honestly say that I never felt better in my whole life. It's like a burden had been lifted. I cannot help but look at life differently than I did. As far as eternal life is concerned, I'm a Christian and haven't seen anything in 65 years that has changed that... 🙂
I haven't given up anything. I still enjoy scotch, bacon and butter. I get lots of rest and eat healthy food (often too much of it). I exercise regularly. Everyone dies; when I do, I'll be content.

bad choice of words on my part, meant to convey the thought that none of us are getting out of here alive. living has a 100 percent fatality rate!
As I had some time on my hands I watched this lecture on modern first world diseases by Dr Robert Sapolsky....."Why zebras don't get ulcers" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9H9qTdserM well worth the popcorn.
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.
Thanks Peppercorn, I really enjoyed this lecture. I hope that you're feeling better soon.
Kind regards,
Wayne

At the end of his lecture you can tell the applause is genuine, turns out this guy has a full time job as a instructor at Stanford University, his 24 or 25 part course on "human biological behaviour" is on line. working through it now, likely 50 hrs of viewing!
