This isn't Costco but Bulk Barn...they have their Tongues of Fire beans on for 16 cents per 100 grams or 74 cents per pound, and Anasaki beans for 28 cents per 100 grams or 1.25 per pound. I havnt had Toungues of Fire beans before so I picked up 5kg to give them a try.The price was right!
Anasaki beans are ones I added to my diet a couple years ago. https://draxe.com/anasazi-beans/

Well taste is subjective but I will say they are mild tasting, maybe...just maybe, a hint of sweetness. What they are great for is in stews/soups. I found they can really pick up the meat and seasoning flavor. Warning though, these are usually very expensive when you can find them, regular price was 5 dollar per pound! I only stock up when they are on sale and 1.25 a pound is a killer price for these.
While I recommend Bulk Barn because of the range of products they have, I only buy their on sale loss leader products. Their "sale" pricing can be really good, regular pricing not so much.

Didn't see your post before Jonesy, must be my old timers kicking in........I bought out every knife they had, maybe 20 in all, over two trips, every jacket I have now has one, each truck and car, and then last December 25th some were gifts for Sir Isaac Newtons birthday gift exchange.
I want to buy more but I have been unable to find any stock anywhere!

Gentlemen, Ladies, others.... It looks like I have to do a "Mea Culpa" here. I was at Costco again, and for some dumb reason ( I have enough) I threw in a few more boxes of their dehydrated potatoes.
I got home and was putting them away when I looked at the data on the box, I always look at the list of ingredents now days, I could have sworn I looked at it before and found nothing wrong but anyway the damn things have 11% sodium (salt) in them. So that 2.54 kg box has 280 grams of Salt. If you were raised on the imperial system as I was that might be hard to imagine how much salt that is but I think that's roughly the amount needed to fill a empty pop can 2/3rds full!!

I immediately checked the other brands I have, even the no name brands and all of them were 1% or below. Stay the hell away from these things. If you happen to have a box of these, please go check for yourself.

I pulled out the scale and opened a box of salt to check if my estimate of the amount was correct, I weighed out 290 grams roughly(over shot a touch) and then poured it into a measuring cup and it comes to one full cup of salt or 8 oz...I need that much salt like I need a hole in the head.

Yikes... dumb question, but can someone make their own dehydrated mashed potato flakes? Or is it outlandish to consider doing this when it can be bought for quite cheap?

Its cheaper to buy them then make them if you can but yes you can make them. That is a crazy amount of salt, for what its worth, I would call the company and ask if its correct, I can't help but think that its wrong packaging info.. a cup of salt in the size of box you are talking about would be SO salty in taste.

I have a picture of the nutritional fact sticker on my phone but I am unable to post it as my phone isn't working right (suspect because I keep refusing to update the software). thecrownsown eats these, maybe he could confirm if he sees this. I will go and see if there is a number on the box to call.

Yep there is a 1 800 number..I will call Monday and see what they say.

https://www.costcobusinesscentre.ca/Honest-Earth-Creamy-Mash-Instant-Mashed-Potatoes%2C-14-×-181-g-.product.100294630.html

You can make them, but the work involved just isn't worth it to me, at $14.00 for 2.54kg (and really well packaged for storage) I will buy them, well not this brand again but others, and I have confirmed the packaging on other brands I have are 1% and below, much better!!

I will post what my phone call finds out.

alrighty...first call to Costco....unable to help, basically confirmed that the labeling matched whats in their system....Got advice that, that's how manufactures make things taste good by adding ,salt, fat, oils or sugar, didn't seem to concerned about the amount. 2nd call right to the manufacturer (USA) . Polite Lady, knew right off the bat what I was asking, confirmed right away that the salt info was correct, did not have a concern at all, She suggested it was more for international storage requirement, as they ship world wide and salt is great for product stability in a wide range of enviroments. How about that "product stability" little concern for health. I tried to impress upon her the amount of salt compared to other brands, but she had no interest.

It just occurred to me, I bet the brands (like no name ) are Canadian manufacture where international sales, storage or environmental (as we are below 0 for 6 months of the year) condition are not a concern and that may be why they are less than 1%salt. Whatever I have a good reason to kick another American product to the curb and buy domestic and be healthier for it.

My brain is still chewing on this....No, something is wrong here...farmgal is right if this was 11 % salt I would think it unedible. Even reconstituted with water the salt content would still be high....something is amiss here.....
