A couple years back I posted a comment that I thought it would soon be harder to get Tylenol #1, and that people should stock up.

I was in the big city about a month ago, and got a call from someone who lives near my place asking me to pick her up a bottle of Tylenol #1 since I was in the city, she had sprained her ankle while in the garden or some such thing. No big deal I said I would pick her up a bottle. Stopped at two drug stores and both said they were out, got on the phone and called 3 other drugstores and all said no stock. I wound up just giving her a bottle from my medicine cabinet when I returned home and though no more of it.
Well today I had to go to my pharmacist and while there I asked for a bottle, I got one just because she knows me but in talking with her it looks like its going to be unavailable. To many people abusing it. She says its policy now to not sell it, unless the Pharmasist knows the patient and even then they may not sell it to you. Had to fill out a form including listing who my family doctor is,so I quess he will be informed.

When you get old things like Tylenol #1 are handy to have, The old joints need a little aid once in a while. Shame that its coming to this, I quess when I run out and cant get anymore I will have to try pot, at least that will be easy to get!

yes, its been that way forever. Having some in the house has saved me many times, I remember a tooth cracking apart and the pain would have been unbearable with out it, damaged something in my foot once, called the plantar fascia or some such thing and without T#1s I wouldnt have been able to walk. I need some now and again do to all the bones I have broken that act up. It was a handy tool to have in the tool box.

I just used the googler and it looks like its being banned without a script now.. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/codeine-opiate-prescription-health-canada-juurlink-pharmacists-ban-sales-1.4284013

I likely use up a bottle of 100 every 6 months or so. Mostly lower back issues as I am always trying to do things like I am in my 20s.

Baby aspirin.

As one who has just had this added to my mix, I noticed that the expiration dates can be close to two years. So thats nice!

NOT telling anyone to stock up on something you do not need or are prescribed, BUT, they may be worth while considering.

Ones heart may be fine now but in six months? If ones chest is sore and pharmacies are shutdown, a person with nothing much to lose may gamble and take one a day! Again, just throwing it out there. Baby aspirins are commonly recommended for minor heart issues so...... cheap and two year expiration is a plus. Just throwing it out there.

And the “expiry” is really just a “best before” date...

No problems getting T 1's in SW Ontario. They are at every pharmacy. I stocked up thinking they were going to be redesignated...and they never were. Good thing they are so cheap. lol.
