I came across this little machine ( http://igg.me/at/yirego-drumi/x/12675374 )... it only requires water and detergent. It seems like it would be an ideal appliance for when the grid goes down. What do you guys think?
Cool gadget but for $200+ I think I would prefer to just wash my clothes by hand.
Thanks guys - I guess what I like most about this machine is that it will take less effort... Just using a foot pedal seems a lot easier than hand washing, especially when it's cold out.
I've got a bucket and plunger ready to go, but the Wonder Wash is supposed to be pretty good, and it goes for around $50...

I recently bought a breathing mobile washer http://breathingwasher.com/ for my son's mechanics clothes. I use a 5 gallon bucket and pre-wash the oil & grease out before putting them through the washing machine. It agitates the clothes very well, I don't find it takes much effort, definitely happy with my purchase.
