The center of hurricane Ophelia is set to hit eastern Newfoundland about 9AM Monday. Currently, she is a category 2 storm and heavy rain and high winds are likely already noticable. A heavy rain warning is in effect with 60mm of precipitation forcast. Winds may calm by the time Ophelia passes over, but residents should have preps such as emerrgency lighting, cooking & heat at the ready as power failures are often associated with these storms. Beware of flooding and lightning and if you are in a flood prone area, consider evacuation...remember your bug out bags.
