Niiiiiice! I didn't care much for doomsday Preppers, but their failure to do some background check on this dude and their desire to air a completely retarded prepper "plan" on tv sure brought the show to an all time low.

Not sure why the cop is surprised, drug users (dealers too) go on reality shows all the time with no apparent penalty.

As for the guy himself, I was already thinking "lazy ass dickweed" before I found out he was a child sex offender. Unfortunately, since we don't give people the chair for that, he's still going to be around in the event of a disaster. Stock up on guns guys 🙄

'Well armed, emotionally unstable, preppers ", you forgot 'dimwitted' , and a child sex offender ? I feel this planet is overpopulated and won't feel bad when this ones gone . Some soccer mom is going to sprinkle ricin on his donut one day when he least expects it .
I think it was in the second season that there was a very emotionally unstable guy who took the channel production for a ride representing himself as a seed saver going to grow in his suburban greenhouses and enlisting the help of other 'growers' off craigslist , then getting into a confrontation meeting up with more of the same in a remote night time meetup with 'growers' that turned guns on him . Laughably the production camera panned over a small mixed of potted veggies with a marijuana plant growing , the guy was sort of a BSing wannabe who was lying and aware of the intentions of his associates who likely thought his set up would be perfect to grow a little something with no risk nor investment themselves . A complete trainwreck that made the production look like idiots buying into his prepper story . The guy was a train wreck as a wannabe grower too . I am sure a cop had to catch that episode and arrange a visit after the show aired.

National Geographic is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of these .

Wasn't there another guy on this show who later had his guns confiscated for being "mentally defective." I remember reading the story somewhere, the cops saw the show and decided this guy was a lunatic.

Either way this string of retardality shows is doing a great job of making us look like jabbering psychos. Or just bumbling idjuts in the case of Doomsday Castle...like Paris Hilton and the cast of MASH decided to build Barbie's dream house in the woods...

This is why I haven't even mentioned the word prepper to my girlfriend of 9 months. She's vaguely aware that I have a closet full of emergency supplies, and I'm leaving it at that. It's not my defining characteristic. Funny thing is, she has a habit of buying things in bulk without even thinking about prepping 😉

Amen Cptn. That show has put such a bad rap on us all. It's a shame we have to keep our intentions a secret.

The worst part about this is these are the people who will form or join the barbarian hordes after SHTF and alot of mental cases will as well!

Doomsday Preppers cast a bad shadow over the whole prepperdom, alot people now think they can survive just after watching this show!

I'm planning a prepper carbine course as soon as I get a venue....
