I listened to the whole interview as it seemed an honest discussion of today's world events. This interview is at the bottom of C5's second post BTW.
A worthwhile listen but they too avoided the potential outcome with consideration to it all likely leading to push for war. They both agree that the US in very close to a financial collapse soon and the part that Russia seems to be getting paid mostly in gold was surprising too. Seems they don't plan on having any US dollars when it finally does collapse.

I agree but it is more serious than that. We have to stop thinking of the Russians as, "those sneaky conniving lying long game chess players" with big evil mustaches, and start thinking of them as Canada and Mexico...but with nuclear weapons. That's not quite right. There is no appropriate simile we can wrap our heads around. In some ways, they are more like Israel. That's not right either. They are "The other". A power like the US...but only trying to hold its ground. Not rule the world. The US on the other hand wants Russia to be the gimp. This is just a flowery, artistic picture, so cut me some artistic slack but Russia is like a lesbian with a 357 being hit on by a drunk frat boy and his buddies. It doesn't end well for anyone. Its a really weird simile but I think it fits and I reserve the right to change my mind later.

After thinking about it for twenty minutes....a lesbian with a 357 is a really good analogy once the shock of me saying it out loud wears off. If I were Russia, I would cut off all gas supplies to Europe in January which would mess up any pipelines for years. You can say, Im sorry. I can change. Please take me back.....for quite a while before the jilted lover take you back, if ever. All roads lead to Rome. Not

LOL. I must agree that it is a suiting simile in a sense that there is madness in continually poking the bear.

It must becoming obvious to even the diehards that the NATO and the EU are trying to provoke Russia into war. There is no other conclusion in their actions as they pile on more sanctions and claim Russia is to blame for these actions when Russia does nothing in response. It seems that maybe the US is really the desperate one in all of this as they seem to need to continually remind everyone of this daily. They seem to fear that given the chance, the majority will abandon the US and their currency and so these continual efforts are required to forestall their inevitable decline.

But if war were to break out, everyone would have to pick a side and stick by their choices thru thick or thin. Many feel that it is best to side with the obvious technologically advanced bully who is running the show, but it is also obvious that many knows this bully doesn't live close and could easily run out on them too and then they are indeed screwed.
