Hi folks. Does anyone have any idea where you can get the pressure gauges on your canners tested in Nova Scotia? HRM, or outside, doesn't matter. I have two secondhand canners that I want to use once our harvest starts coming in and I'm leary of their gauges.
Unfortunately, we do not have university or county extension offices here as they do in the states.
I have yet to find a place that does this testing as a rule, but I have heard that a radiator repair shop would have the equipment to test them.
Of course, if you really don't trust it, and all else fails, you can just order new gauges from the manufacturer if they are still in business.
If you have a Presto or All American, these gauges are easy to replace.
