I have always intuitively been preparing. I think that comes with lots of time spent camping, canoeing, sailing, surf trips.... understanding the need for self-sufficiency. The more you know the less you need sort of mentality. I think Yvonne Chouinard of Patagonia said that.

Water is something most people up in Canada take for granted. I think out of all the catastrophes we have managed to wrangle as humans on the planet, poisoning our water systems has been the dumbest.
