Morning everyone,
I'm looking for an online, full version of Alone In The Wilderness 1 and 2. For those who may not know, it's the story of Dick Proenneke, who lived alone in Alaska when in his late forties till .... I'm not sure when. I'm also looking for an online copy of Pioneer Quest.
Can anyone help me find these?
Thanks!
Dragon

Alone in the Wilderness is posted in full up to 4 parts in YouTube.
What is Pioneer Quest?
Pioneer Quest was a 8 episode documentary on the History Channel some years back, filmed in Manitoba, where two couples lived on the land, from scratch, as the early settlers did. EVERYTHING had to fit with the 1800's. It was fascinating to me.

I like that one, they were a good example of how weather can really mess with things and they learned the hard way that you need to always watch and check your food storage plans and they should have canned more of their deer, but they got there finally.. there were things about that show that had me talking back to the TV but overall, one of the better ones I have seen, but to be fair, I have not had a cable/TV for a good number of years so perhaps better one's since.

I borrowed the DVD as well as the book (One Man's Wilderness, I think it's called) from my public library.....(if yours doesn't have it maybe they will do an inter-library loan). Every spring local PBS stations play it during their membership drive. Good luck. It's truly epic.
