As you can see, the short answer is yes. But it'll be nearly impossible to tell in this company.

Hello and welcome to the community. This asylum is run by the nuts.

Most mouth woes are caused by plaque. Plaque is a sticky layer of bacteria, bits of food and other organic matter that forms on your teeth. The bacteria in plaque make acids that cause cavities. Plaque also leads to periodontal (gum) disease. This can become a serious infection. It can damage bone and destroy the tissues around your teeth.
The best defense is to remove plaque before it has a chance to build up and cause problems. Brushing removes plaque from the large surfaces of the teeth and from just under the gums. Flossing removes plaque from between your teeth. You also can use other tools to keep your mouth and teeth clean. For more information go to --------------> http://www.invisiblebraceplace.com/

No not nuts, but it is extreamly overwhelming watching those movies, Food Inc., Monsanto, Peak Oil, Who killed the electric car, revenge of the electric car... There are lots of good movies out there. But it's sad / hard to watch them.
But the good thing is that your eyes are now open and you can start changing your life to what you want.
Don't bother trying to convert others that don't care about this stuff, they have to see it for themselves and make that choice.
When i started storing food "beginner prepper" in the basement, my husband thought i was a hoarder.
HAHA he doesn't call me that anymore, now he's a believer and his helping with the prepping.
I'm glad I found this site, and can't wait to meet people in Aug at Richters.

No you are quite sane. However if you follow the plaque link we may question that. This forum is friendly, helpful and very courteous. Here we have a group of people who are dedicated to helping others to prepare for unforeseen situations. Welcome and greetings from Northern Ontario.

Of course you're not nuts. There are plenty of people out there wanting to live a more "natural" old fashioned way of life, though they are in the minority.

I will, however, play devil's advocate and say that there has been a lot of GOOD things to come out of chemicals, technology, science, etc. Vaccines that have eradicated horrible diseases, chemotherapy that saved my mother's life, social networks and electronic devices with the ability to show political conflicts and government crackdowns. Talking to my grandmother who grew up in Hungary during the 1930s, life wasn't really all that fun.

I do have mixed feelings about putting sunscreen on my kids. They can get burnt and raise their chances of getting skin cancer or they can be sprayed with nano-sized chemicals which may cause cancer in the long run. I guess I get to choose which one I think is the lesser evil.

I have battled for a long time about my feelings on enjoying life (esp consumer life) versus living a natural, chemical-free good for the environment life. It's not like the two are mutually exclusive, indeed most of lifes greatest pleasures can be found in the simple things and out in nature. It's just that I spent so much time getting angry at people (in my head) that weren't following my "green" way of living. Plus I was being a hypocrite a lot of the time too. I mean, I can't give up my mascara or hairspray at all, let alone for the crappy organic version.

So I have decided that it is not black and white. It is shades of grey and as long as I am doing the best I can, that is good. I had to start thinking that way because I was being way too judgemental about people. Some people KNOWINGLY stick their heads in the sand because ignorance is bliss. I don't want to be like Lisa Simpson and be tortured by guilt for the planet's woes.

p.s. trying to give up my crack-like addiction to Diet Coke (yes the Coca Cola company is probably the spawn of Satan), which I may at times buy at London Drugs. TRYING.

Thats why it was only sold in drug stores at first. Here’s a brief history.

The soft drink was first sold to the public at the soda fountain in Jacob's Pharmacy in Atlanta on May 8, 1886.
Until 1905, the soft drink, marketed as a tonic, contained extracts of cocaine as well as the caffeine-rich kola nut.
