Would anyone be interested in this type of meet in Southern Ontario? I am starting to get rid of some of my cook books, craft books, gardening books, games as well as some of my doubles of things like meat grinders.

I'd be interested if it's on a Sunday.
Have plenty of stuff that need a new home. Slings, scope rings, poop load of 9mm & 40 s&w brass, die sets, 17 HMR barrels that fit Ruger 10/22's, knives, katanas .
I need to down size BIG TIME!

All the stuff I want to get rid of is free to a good home 🙂

I do not think that anything dealing with weapons or that type of supply would be possible yo barter/trade without a permit.

As a former firearms sales rep, I know for a fact that the stuff that "survivalofthefittest" mentioned, you DO NOT need any permitts or any type of licence to buy, barter, trade, swap or give away.

I'd certainly be interested in a good katana, but there is no way I could make it to a swap or meet unless someone could give me a ride from London. Survivalofthefittest, what do you have for katanas and how much would you want for one? I don't know a lot about them, but I like them. Perhaps we could arrange something.

Name brand katanas I have for sale for now are Paul Chen, Masahero, & Cold Steel.
These are not display Katanas, & designed for use.
The Masahero is a folded Katana.
I'm looking for Glock 20 in 10mm auto, Glock 21 in 45 ACP. in gen 3's/4's & 1911's in 10mm & 45acp as well. Not interested in Norinco firearms.
Would consider Walters, HK & SIG's in 9mm. A Kel tec sub 2000 that takes Glock mags in 9mm be a consideration.
Open to cash offers as well.

I would have to pay in cash. I am a fairly small woman, about 5'2". Not sure if one of the katanas would suit me. Have no idea what to offer for one either.

I would look in the internet of different name brands & models.
Prices will range from $400 to $80,000 for a katana.
Balance in a katana is important for one's use.
It's best to handle different types at the same time if possible, which will give you a better idea what's best for your needs.

If ones is short in stature, a Wakizashi would suit them better for use.
In general a Wakizashi is about 21 inches in blade length.
A Katana is about 27-30 inches in blade length.
Hope this helps in your search.

with katana type swords you need the proper form/stance and technique, to wield them effectively, This takes years to learn and master, katana type swords usually tend to be top heavy (being as they are slashing weapons) the heavy top means that if it is deflected from the sides it will off balance you and your sword more then a sword of different design (usually), that and katana's are not made to take hits/block from the sides, so your left with edge blocking which is tricky if you have no formal training or even practice using them. That being said if i were of short stature, i would go with the katana simply for having the added reach, over the wakizashi, the katana may be harder to wield but the added reach is worth the extra effort, as most people who are taller then others tend to have a longer reach. Katana's do tend to be quite lighter then other swords and their slashes are wickedly effective on non armoured targets, and when i say armoured i mean like sir lancealot lol. don't let hollywood misguide you katana's don't cut people in half, the people who trained their whole lives to learn the techniques can do that, not to mention in feudal japan most samurai wore leather tunics or cuirasses, which where design for minimal protection and maximum mobility. But in the end everyone thinks twice before confronting someone with a katana lol btw paul chen makes very good oriental blades! though i don't have 1000$ to drop on one though haha. In the end its best to get what ever you feel comfortable with using, as that is what will be most effective as you will have less doubt using it and more confidence.

When I started the thread I had no idea that I would be going back to work so soon.

Sorry until my mom passes I won't be able to set this up - 5 days a week work and 2 days a week looking after my mom 🙁
