I don't know about you, but I can get overwhelmed thinking about all the things I'd like to do. It makes me feel burned out at times.
Do you ever feel that way, and if so what do you do to keep making progress?

Well, for me at least, I make mini-goals and lists, and therefor can see the process being made, this helps alot, but the second thing I do, Is I make sure to take time off, an hour here or there for a hike in our local woods, an hour here or there training the cow, or grooming the hounds, I try and take in a farm sale once or twice a month for most of the spring though fall, and I have outside interests (they overlap to a point, alot of the SCA skills are moveable but its not about preparing so much as it is about studying history and learning forgotten skills), the other main outside interest is my Pie, Wine, Knit girls, again, you could say that the overlap is in the knitting, sewing an Lucets, all good skills to have but in truth, that is my ladies night out, there is alot more coffee then wine but its still a great way to step out and spend a evening out, all the girls would be considered preppers by "outside" folks but most don't think of themselves that way.

I know how you feel Greenguy. There just isn't enough time (or money) to do everything I would like to do. To avoid feeling bogged down Make a list of absolutely everything you can think of that you would like to do then prioritize it. Not all projects are equal some may be major projects requiring a lot of time and resources. Others may be require little effort. Once I have prioritized my list I usually pick a couple of little projects and move them to the top of the list even if they are not as important. This way you can move down the list at a rate that feels like you are getting something accomplished. Prepping is important but so is life and there are many every day demands on us. I have quite a lot a free time so I try to complete one project per week, while working on a three month project. If you have less time you could set a targeted one project per month. Even at this rate you will be amazed at what you get done by the end of the year. Don't get discouraged you are already ahead of the curve!

I am also a list-maker and crosser-offer 🙂 One thing I would add is a Priority Meeting. DH and I meet almost every week to discuss the 5 areas most important to us - one of which is prepping and another the TO-DO which is prepper related in many cases. We just set aside an hour or so and actually talk about what needs to be done and when we're going to get to it. You can read more about it on my blog if you're interested: http://adventures-in-country-living.blogspot.ca/2011/12/how-to-stay-motivated-and-keep-moving.html
