er, highly illegal....but don't worry, you get all the meds you require, on the house when your locked up in Kingston Pen! 😀

(seriously though, this is criminal activity....be very careful)

Really? I thought it was a brilliant idea. I have to get a prescription renewed by my doctor next week and was going to ask for 3 months worth times the 3 refills.

some docs will give you three months at a time for some drugs. my medications aren't serious drugs, there have not street value, they can't get you high, they are for a medical condition. . . and can be given out in large quanities. they are Rx but not highly controlled.

tell your doc you want some on hand that will be rotated oldest used first, so that you don't have to worry about running out etc.

lol, i'm not doing it any more. . .

buddy, ask! tell your doctor exactly what you want to do and why and let them make a decision. tell them your a prepper and they are for storage, not abuse. they can only say no and if you feel that strongly about his decision go find another doctor...you don't have to tell him you 'asked' anyone else, only if you were prescribed in the last 30 days. it sounds like you already have a bit of a supply. carry on getting your regular doses and just use up the ones with the shortest shelf life...

ideal situation would be to find a doctor whose a prepper him/ herself...

Entropy, your not going to cop a charge for RX...the designation in the act itself was to stop (as in the case i dealt with) the drug dealer who went to several different walk in clinics over two days and foudn herself in possession of nine different scripts for methanol and T3's....she got arrested trying to sell them and we back tracked where she got them from...

I never considered the possibility of there being a street value for what I take. How would I find out? I googled one of the drugs but could not find any government listings. I did find a bunch of "pay here" sites.

people say that Percocets are woth $20 each, that's bull. $3 tops, if you pay more you are getting screwed!
i know this because i work with these issues. . . but i do know people that have/do sell/buy them.

i've lost too many friends to drugs, i have no use for those people. some of those friends are just "dead to me" but there are a handful that are actually dead. our hospital has had 3 YOUNG people die of alcohol/drug related problems in the last year. the one guy has 2 brothers not far behind them. the first two were users together. and they lost a buddy a few years back who OD'd in their living room.

shit, i have way too many stories.
hell i even know docs that give out pills WAY to easy. i know one doc (a psych doc) that didn't feel the family doc was given enough pain medication to this guy, so he gave him 6 more doses a day (12 extra pills a day)! i can't say which doc was right or wrong, pain is a very hard problem to work with (and i work with a pain specialist, and i do palliative care, i am at the front lines of pain control) but this guy had enough extra to sell. (to a family member)

yeah, i really do hate addiction.
my advice is meant to be used for good, i guess it can be used for bad too.
i'm going to remove that post.

Thought I'd share this with you. An ounce of prevention.

Does anyone know about a symptom called trigeminal neuralgia? Do you know if there are alternatives to taking meds?

Have the doctors not identified the cause? Mine was a tumor. Once the tumor was removed most of the pain went away. One person that I used to work with had part of one of the nerves "killed" to reduce the pain.

This is something a doctor needs to address. There are no herbal remedies for this. The only other suggestion that I had is speak to a doctor about acupuncture.

I am sorry that either you or someone you know is dealing with this.

That would be one of the reasons I have a chemist on my list for a stand alone community, as well as a herbalist, Acupuncturist or a combination of the bunch. Just an Idea, maybe we should make up a list of trades that are preppers. I myself wear many hats, Combat Engineer, Aero Engine Tech, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, and most entertaining, Tinker.

Thanks for your input Oldschool. I'm not interested in surgery - EVER- for anything. Just give me the damn pain killers and make them the really good kind 😆

Thanks for the link susannah755. Very interesting, I'm going to try it.

I didn't do it----Wouldn't you rather solve the problem then mask it.

I would rather have surgery over a cold.......I am used to having surgeries but not colds. Lol
