hi, new here, i'm from "mid" south western Ontario. i've never really understood how we got that title but. . . i'm too far north to pick up Q107 but i get rock 95 and the bull LOL.

i've been prepping for wow, 10 years now. i started out in apartment with my mother when i was in school and preps were small and few then.
when i moved out and started working my preps became more (who would of guessed)
but the last 5 years i've worked hard at putting up a lot more food, water, fuel, everything that goes with it. for anyone new, take my advice start with a good tracking system for "stuff". after my last one failed for the "last time" i'm starting a new tracking program (Food storage planner) it's ok, i'm starting to like it more, but starting with what i have it a real PITA!
i've got a lot of prepping friends in the US, been down there a few times to some big camp outs, and made some real good friends, been down to see them a couple of time. i've met a few preppers in Ontario, some of the best people i know, but we are fairly far apart, but we do get together every few months.
there is nothing like sitting down with like minded people to talk shop!
it's been a while since i've joined a public forum, my last experiences were a mix of great to ok lol. but this one seems a little closer to the culture i grew up in.

i dated a girl that had an old LDS family (lots of prepping going on)
so as we got closer, her family shared things with me, ideas etc. i didn't start until i watched a video i got for 99 cents at walmart on Y2K. it was 99 cents because it was 2002 lol. it talked about prepping for any event, with food, water, sanitation, health care, heat/light/shelter. . . a very positive video, "you prep the world will be ok" but it got me thinking. i filled my first water storage that night (2x 2L ginger ale bottles, which i still have in my freezer for ice blocks, still dated and everything)
we bought the video for a laugh and it changed my life.
