Does anyone know how to build this kind of stuff or a place where I can find out how to build it?
I really want to learn how to do this myself ----- http://youtu.be/9nljmEUeLbY
Pretty damn cool! I imagine you could do it yourself if you have the opportunity of building it while you were putting an addition on your house. But im sure, with the right floor underneath, you could do it. But if you want to hide your preps as well or something of such nature, use a couch. build a stash box into your couch or something of that sort. Empty "fake" water tank? Fill that with stuff. People, who ever they may be, wont look inside certain things if they are trying to rob you, plus most are on a time constraint to get in and out asap....since we're "preppers" and we are concerned for our food, i wouldnt advise the pop bottle/can safes or using old cereal boxes...cuz we both know that's something someone would grab if they were starving! or, again, if you have a closet or cupboard, build a false door 3/4s of the way in, so you have enough room behind it for firearms or what ever it is you are stashing...
I have too many ideas! Lol, love that you posted this! Now i'm thinking! might be better than diggin that old hole out on the property....hmm.....
I will be building a new cabin this year and have considered the idea of stashing a gun, food, supplies, etc.. I thought of drywalling in a .22 or something and just keep it there with only a few of us knowing its there. The problem I have is that I use the land only here and there and I am worried about everyday joes just taking a look and maybe breaking in. Most locals know who lives where and when the non-locals come up, I am worried about having items that might be found by someone poking around. Any ideas? We currently have a place on 300acres but will be building a smaller cabin further back this summer. I dont own the land or main cabin but will have my own little shack by end of this year, so I plan to start stashing! 😀

hard to read but interesting, I guess you can become quite creative if you wanted. Food for thought, I know a guy who told me he had a gun hidden in his garage, narrowed it down to it being under the concrete that was all he gave me. Within 2 min I figured out where it was, I said to him obviously it wont be in main area you walk, it will be near the sides, possibly under a shelf or toolbox, I walked around tapped the floor and pinpointed it in seconds, Apparently he layed plywood under the concrete so the sound was a give away. Guess I am saying that if u do hide something dont tell anyone, since nothing is really hard to find if u know its there or suspect its there.
What do you think about non-lethal booby traps, and criminal proof locks? Do they exist?

I have been looking into locks. I am trying to figure out how the mechanics of all of this kind of stuff works. I think trick locks would keep a criminal out unless they had bolt cutters.

Love the non-lethal booby traps and have been looking into that as well. Usually the old Egyptian or castle methods are the only ones people talk about.

I always like the basement floor joist concealments, that area between the joist can make great storage areas and concealed to look like old ductwork, or above drop ceilings. How about crawl spaces, every body put junk under there, Would you look for usable stuff in old dilapidated boxes, sometimes, the best place to hide stuff is in plain sight.
