I like how this guy made a bow powered lathe to do woodworking, I wonder what other tools can be made to be human powered. Personally I would like to see it hooked up to a bicycle so my hands are free to work

A good time to invest in spf3000 if you live on the NK penninsula.

I picked up an old hand powered push drill that seems to be in good working order from a flea market a while ago. It's bigger than a yankee drill and has a brace for your body to push against for leverage. I'll try to remember to snap a pic later

Lee Valley sells a very good brace type hand drill. Not free, but should last a lifetime or two if cared for.

Hand powered tools are handy to have and still work when the power is off. I have a small hand drill that I use all the time for for smaller projects when the battery drill or drill press are just overkill.

The older tools are generally better made and sometimes can be found at yard sales, and flea markets. Farm auctions & sales is another good source and makes for a fun day as well.

Just a question, but has anyone here seen the movie "Alone in the Wilderness"??? About Dick Proencke. I hope I spelt that correctly. He builds a cabin in Alaska in 1968, by himself, with only hand tools. Not even a chainsaw. Rips his own boards with a handsaw!!!!!

He is an excellent craftsman. The movie is worth watching.
