i live in brampton does any one has any ideas for what to put in my kit for the city.
There are a lot of posts on bug out bags, GO bags etc. Look to the very top of the page, Search also Advanced Search. These are your friends.. use them wisely grasshopper
what are your intentions for this kit? Get Home, DODGE bag, if so where will you go? (Dodge,, get out of Dodge bag)
is this in your car, you house, your garage, spare vehicle, basement, attic. Believe it or not, everything I posted will have some of its own answers and there will be variations to the locations and especially your intentions as well. Are you alone, married, kids, pets, so many answers and so many variations as well.
maps

water, water purification, water storage
thanks wildernessretun
unless youre talking about a "disaster kit" for home use, then youre looking at different items than if you were gettin outta dodge
you need to be ore specific in your questions or as advised above read through some of the other threads to see what fits you best
City dwellers have needs that are different in the first 72 hours of an emergency. Unlike country preppers, city folks may immediately be dealing with lots of other people. Whether the problem is weather, power outage, environmental contamination, pandemic, etc... city folks have to think fast, but immediately running may be out of the question (think jammed freeway at rush hour).
Most people have families, so reuniting with your spouse and children might be a priority. Developing a go bag with things you would need to get from your work to your home (even if you couldn't drive) might be a priority for some. Having a rally point plan for your group might be wise.
Eye protection, masks and gloves take up very little space and can help with smoke, debris, dust, contamination and disease.
Head lamps keep your hands free.
Most likely every prepper (even those that plan to bug out) has short term provisions for a bug-in, just in case you can't leave right away.
City bug-in supplies are again a little different than country folks, but it depends on your situation. "Opportunistic" crimes are high during times of emergency. Looting, vandalism, flash violence, mob mentality are issues for city bug-in's. So, think about home hardening, and keeping a low profile away from crowds. Again, city folks might prep differently. Pre-cut plywood for basement windows, braces for doors, stuff like that. Every situation will be different. Apartment dwellers have different issues than people in homes. I'm not in a big city, but not in the country either. I think once you evaluate your strengths and weaknesses you'll be able to really use this forum to get ideas that will work best for you. Like the others have said. That's what I'm doing.
thanks guys. does any one live in the brampton area. so i can meet up and chat
What about prepping for events that don't require you to leave? Job loss and extend unemployment? Utility outages - short and extended? What about restricted travel?
