Children are great, they are the future and should be taught the things they may need to know to look after themselves. My only concern is that Sharbot Lake is quite a piece from where we are. What are you looking for in the way of prepping? If nothing else we can discuss things and help each other make plans. Since there are so many versions of preparedness, maybe you can send me some info on what you're currently doing and how you feel on topics such as self defence. That seems to be a topic that people feel very strongly about, one way or the other. We are pro-defence but have not crossed over into the "paranoid" compound living situation. We plan alot, we have various plans for various situations but try to maintain our regular lifestyle until such time as we need to put things into action. However, it's difficult to gather others together in our community to form any sort of team effort. I'm really looking forward to hearing from you.
Considering your planned area's proximity to Atomic Energy Canada's Chalk River plant you'll be... not sure how much interest you'll get.

People who know the facts about the plant here, won't be concerned about it. It's only the ones that assume they know that would have a problem with this area.
