Hello All,
I thought I should do a summary for the meet due to the size of the thread.

The meet is June 2nd at Hidden Valley Park in Burlington, Ontario.
Time -- 11:00am to 6:00pm (actually the permit is from 10:00am to 6:00pm)
Theme -- food
Everyone is welcome except for the media.

BYOP (Bring your own PREP!)

Wouldn't this be a great chance to get that stuff out of your car kit for a test run?
You know, fire up (and show off) your emergency stove, dig in to your stores for those soup, iced tea mixes and hot chocolate packs?
Rotate out that water for a fresh batch?

The few things that you most likely should bring, if you have them are:

a chair - the folding kind are good. There may not be enough picnic tables
something for yourself go drink- no beer, wine that kind of thing
something to eat - for yourself but if you make, dry, -if you feel like bringing some go share
questions
if there is something that you would like to show - like a cook stove, hobo stove, really anything dealing with food

Ranger2012 will be doing a demonstration on how to build a solar oven.
Justabear will be bringing the tinfoil for it.
My ex will be bringing the boxes
I will be bringing the hangers and glass.

Secret June Santa - one small item under $20.00 put is a plain non see through bag or container to give. This is optional. At the moment I think there are only 4 of us by last count participating.

Show & Tell – anything that you would like to share. It does not have to be food related but should be prepper related.

I am sorry I don't have anything to contribute because I am just getting started on the prepping life but I would be more than happy to bring some sandwiches if that is ok. My brother and I will both be attending. I am from Cambridge in case someone else would like to go.

Of course you have something to contribute. Questions get us all thinking :). Sent you a pm on the subject.

Look forward to meeting you and your brother

Just show up! 🙂

I will bring something to eat to share with the class (We call it the EOTWAWKI Sammich... great way to use up a lot in a fridge when the SHTF! and no worries, I will have an ingredients list in case of allergies)
I got my secret santa gift ready to go!
Folding lawn chair ready, cooler washed and ready to pack up (yes I am THAT excited!) and ummmmmm I don't know if I should/could/would bring something for show and tell... because I talk enough as it is. lol Oh! I could show everyone how to filter water with their sneakers? Or how to make a blanket out of old clothes? 101 uses for lemon juice? I got a million ideas 😀

*edit 'cause I need to learn to spell properly

Here is my partial list of what I will be bringing. I will also be bringing a few extra things since my name is on the permit but most people I think should have some of the items as part of a BOB. I know some of it is not "real prepper" but I am doing so since some are just starting out:

water, juice
cups, plates, cutlery
folding chairs, folding stool
mini propane bbq & extra tank, lighter
small pot, small frying pan
fire extinguisher
garbage bags
wire hangers, glass & boxes - for the solar oven
note book with some questions already written down & pencil
potato salad & pasta salad with tuna
Santa exchange item
cooler
dried samples - I know others have done much more
samples of fast meals with 4 ingredients (just in plastic bags zipper bags)
gourds - how to use as containers
special knives used in making containers & utensils
a couple of things from the backpacking chef web site to make on the bbq for people to try
a few plants that I think most people should have in their homes plus the plants the lemon balm

and a few things on the side that I have offered a few members that are coming

Damn where does the time go?
I was going to make Biltong but I'm just hanging it today to dry. Hope it's done enough by the weekend.

NAME TAGS. Do you think it would be a good idea to have name tags with our FORUM names on them? That way it would be a lot easier to put a face to the name and posts.
