Grouchy...love that genny. You got some nice welding skills!
Just one question...what is that you are using for a mufler and how well does it work?
Had to run my Champion 6800w for a couple hours this morning and would love to find a cheap muffler for it.
i made an add on to the original muffler, made about a 25% reduction in noise.
with what i know now i could improve the muffler with more baffles.
Oldschool is this event going to run until 6:00 pm rain or shine?
It's suppose to. That's why I posted the link about local restaurants.
Where you thinking of making the drive? It's about 7 hours away from you, isn't it?
Yes it is and yes I am. I had a prior commitment, our yearly yard sale for the Fire Dept. However I might be able to be able to swap the Saturday shift.
I'm thinking of bringing some Mylar bags to the June 2nd meet.
10" x 12" - 30 cents each
12" x 18" - 40 cents each.Anyone want any?
I DO!!!!! I have run out (ya I gave them to a neighbour which I am now regretting, she missed the point of them)
Sending you a PM now 🙂
grouchyprepper, nice generator... what are the specs on it as far as wattage and motor size? hope you bring it, would love to pick your brain a lil more!

WOW sending you a pm on it
Looks like the rain is going to be gone by tomorrow afternoon!! Citynews is saying cloudy, a little cool and low chance of rain 😀
So Greenguy and Ratdogmom, do you think one could make their own mylar bags from Dollarstore 'Emergency blankets' (mylar like) in any size by just sealing all the edges ??? Just a thought....
My guess would be no for food. I would guess too that they may be too thin.
I'm the lady you're stuck behind in the grocery store with the over loaded cart filled with cases of tuna, peanut butter, huge bags of rice and the weary looking husband
I suggest we play it by ear.. see what the weather actually is and how the lay of the land is so to speak. We are nothing if not adaptable. After all that is a big part of what prepping is all about... I WOULD ASK EVERYONE TO BRING THEIR OWN MUG FOR HOT DRINKS. Looking forward to meeting everyone and getting this ball rolling in the right direction.

I would really be interested in your muffler as I just bought a new Geni and my biggest concern is noise as I am in suburbialand...
I do have plans to put it in a 4x8 store bought plastic shed and then vent the exhaust out but if I could reduce the noise even more I would really be interested!
I too have the Champion 6800w, maybe we can work out a bulk purchase from you, lol
