The Russell Williams Restaraunt is a great place.. good food, attractively priced and you will be full when you leave.

I'm thinking of bringing some Mylar bags to the June 2nd meet.
10" x 12" - 30 cents each
12" x 18" - 40 cents each.

Anyone want any?

Please forgive my ignorance but how do you seal them?

I seal them with my regular clothes iron. Run a hot iron along the edge you want to seal, and you're done!

Hot iron like Greenguy said or....a hair straitening iron....lots of videos on youtube show both methods.

I'm the lady you're stuck behind in the grocery store with the over loaded cart filled with cases of tuna, peanut butter, huge bags of rice and the weary looking husband

Husbandface says he may not be going to his out of town golf event on Saturday because of the impending rain....so seeing how we're close to Burlington...there is a slight chance of us attending after all.

If we can come I will try to remember to bring some of my dried pineapple/oranges/shredded carrots to share around and people can sample.

Sorry about the golf but looking forward to meeting you if you can make it

So Greenguy and Ratdogmom, do you think one could make their own mylar bags from Dollarstore 'Emergency blankets' (mylar like) in any size by just sealing all the edges ??? Just a thought....

Hi PrepHer,
I don't know whether you can make mylar bags from those blankets. I guess if they're cheap enough you could just try it? I myself wouldn't do it, as the mylar bags we use are double walled and designed for food storage. Heck, I won't even eat candy from the dollar store. It's all made in China and full of extra chemicals.

LOL I hear ya - I always check where food from the Dollarstore is made and I stay away from anything from China. I was thinking that I would just store pre-wrapped stuff like rice and beans in it. But you have a good point about transfer of 'chemicals'.....I'll have to consider that. Thanks

I am looking forward to meeting you all and exchanging lots of ideas.
Food, herbs and natural cures are my passion... and yes...my livelihood!

I have prepared a few notes on an easy prepare radiation protocol should TSHTF
along with some show and tell food items that are nutritionally dense.

Looks like this will be lots of fun...hope the rain stays away...

Grouchy...love that genny. You got some nice welding skills!
Just one question...what is that you are using for a mufler and how well does it work?
Had to run my Champion 6800w for a couple hours this morning and would love to find a cheap muffler for it.
