Heard it on the News twice tonight... I wonder if this means -
The Teachers will get their contract back?
The ONR will NOT be sold?
or He has his pension and dosn't care?
Any thoughts?

3 family's could live off of his Golden Parachute Gov't Pension !
while real Heros of the Military/police/fire/ambulance services get their pensions slashed more and more every year.

He has quite the ego. He has also removed anyone from the Cabinet that he thinks might be a challenge to him. So the big question is what is his game? He is not doing it for the good of Ontario. I believe that he just put the last nail in the Provincial Liberals Coffin. More likely things are so bad he figures the Liberals will never get elected again and stepped down so it would not appear to be his fault. His favorite theme tune was The Rising by Bruce Springfield, it always heralded his entry into official functions. I guess the rising has faded away into the setting.

Shouldn't have let him leave at all. He should be the captain forced to go down with the ship he ran aground.

His resigning is more headlines than anything else now. He had a job, and can quit whenever he wants.

The proroging (sp!) at Queen's Park is more of an eye opener.....constitutionally he is well within his right...was it a smart move...with the information being provided to the public it seems awfully inappropriate and looks likes he' trying to hold off any further inquiring into the ORNGE, and power plant issues until he's officially out of office AND there is another leader in due place. Proroguing the parliament for 5-6 months so the Liberal Party can have a snap leadership election is what appears to have happened. Even though he says its because the tone in parliament has soured over the cuts he's making. But...do you want a snap election and your gov't brought down when your in the middle of a transition? You would be decimated without proper leadership in an election. 90% of voters vote for the leader...not there local rep. So though I don't like what he did, I think I may understand the prudence and why he did it.

9 Years ago he started spending like a fiend. The massive cuts were only a matter of time. And they will have to continue. Money and Finance don't lie. The numbers are the numbers. It's not a moral issue...its a fiscal issue. The entire public sector needs to be pulled back. From top to bottom. Whats a little humorous about it, is that typically it would have been the PC's coming to power making the cuts from the Liberals spending. The Liberals held on to power...and were forced to make themselves do the dirty work to the very spending spree they've been on for years. Hows that for peculiar politics! 😆

Glad to see him gone... but worried about who will replace him. Regardless of which party wins the next election, none of the leaders or their approach to provincial politics inspire or encourage me.

It's coming... and it's going to hurt!
