Recently I run to old friend and noticed big change in his attitude. Than I learned that not long ago he got bad news from a doctor regarding his health.Got me thinking AM I READY MENTALLY and or SPIRITUALLY for big disaster/change? I am not necessarily talking about GOD.Although I believe that everybody has GOD.Some people have spiritual GOD that guides your life and you still control your life.Others have materialistic GOD (money, sex, alcohol, drugs atc.) that completely control their life. WE see on TV daily guys coming from Afghanistan completely ruin mentally. Are we ready to handle the worst scenario. How are you prepping for that? I personally believe in GOD so I should be ready for death but am I ready for suffering and challenges that big changes could create? Just something to meditate on

I truly believe that for the most of us who go through our lives relatively unprepared spiritually that it would actually be a disaster, loss or extreme challenges in our lives that would develop and define our spirituality.

To quote a common saying: “There are no atheists in a fox hole.”

I am not sure that I would agree with that statement. However I do believe that a high percentage of preppers no matter how well they think they are prepared, even those with an excellent plan and many stores, will have a hard time dealing with realities if the SHTF. Preppers are at least think about these possibilities which puts them ahead of the cure a little but very few actually know, or have a realistic view of, how they will react if these circumstances actually unfold. Not many have an understand of the depths of depravity human kind is capable of or are ready to make the harsh decisions that the new life would demand of them. There will be those that can summon that certain level of detachment that will be necessary for endurance and there will be those that are driven by a higher purpose. Those who can mentally adapt to the circumstances will be the true survivors.

The aspect of being mentally repaired is often underrated. I'm thinking about a mmetup with a psychologist that will explain the mental recourses that some people would take in the event of an event. I can say that 10% or more will freak out while 10% will know exactly what to do.

To me it is all about remaining calm to step back and take in the situation whatever it may be... if time permits. I have my own god higher power and know I am not given anything I cant handle sometimes i require help other times I dont wheteher it be spirtitual, another person or divine intervention. I have a plan a strong WILL to survive and thrive at somepoint. Death i will fight it, not giving in; but adapting to situation and surroundings I can do. My fear is that my humanity side will be lost and where I might have been able to help others but I wont out of fear of not being able to support my family. As I am prepared and have taken measures to do so why would I risk it for a stranger????? Time and circumstances will tell...
Reminds me of the old guy on Ice road truckers praying to his god to keep him safe but he is standing on step of truck driving... some say why pray I say prayer with action will save ya...
Just my .02 cents

I have made it this far in life doing it My Way:cool:..... Wonder where I would be if I had CONFORMED
