With the cost of utilities now a days I am always looking for new ideas to save a few bucks.
I was at a friends and he had some motion activated LED lights in his bathroom for the kids at night
I went and got three at the bargain store and now as I enter each room the LED comes on and I do not have to turn on room lights
I don't know if it will save much on the bills but can't hurt

Lee Valley has nice ones. Runs on 3 or 4 AAA batteries. They last about 6 months if not used frequently. I was going to hook it up to a solar charger but no worries so far

A good time to invest in spf3000 if you live on the NK penninsula.

I got some emergency flashlights at Costco that stay plugged in to an outlet so they're always charged, at the same time they work as a timed motion sensing light. If the power goes out they turn on. They've been working fine for at least a year now.
3 in a pack and I'll guess $15 or $20.

All you have to do is stick it somewhere that you can wave and most of them will pop back on.

I had a set of inexpensive ones for a while, but I have a cat and a Lab that chases lights and lasers like a cat, and they had a red pulsing light. Between the two of them, the lights never kept their charges and I spent a week and a half jerking out of bed to sudden lights down the hall when the cat got playful in the middle of the night.

I just use Nokeros for an evening reading light now. I keep 3 hanging in two different windows (which is treated and they hang flat and an inch and a half inside it from my curtain; not optimal charging conditions, so I need 3 during gray winters). One hangs from a hook over my shoulder in bed and one has a little stand rigged inside a regular lamp. The bright settings are great for a book-book or checking coin dates out to about 4-6 feet and a puzzle on the same table. The low setting is fine for a computer or tablet, munching popcorn watching TV, even playing some cards if you're at a small 4-seater with the lamp there.

I have quite a few solar spotlights, some have lasted for years from Home Depot.
They have 3 spotlights and a separate solar panel. I have the panel in a window and they run for a few hours after dark. Search for these on their website - Classy Caps 3-Pack Solar Landscape Spotlights
While there I saw this one, equals a 15w light. I might just get a few of those to try.

I also got a pretty good solar desk lamp from Ikea.
