Greetings everyone,

I have spent a little time reading some of the posts here and thought i would say hello and a thank you for all the people here who have posted their wisdom here.

I am fairly new to this prepping thing as i guess its called. So far my wife and I have put aside extra food when we can such as canned goods and the odd Mountain House #10 cans (I think thats the size). A few years ago I picked up a berkey water system that we use daily and it really makes the tap water here in Toronto a lot better to drink, but I guess in an emergency situation it would become very handy. Then a couple of years ago I went out and took a course over a weekend to get my gun license and just recently I picked up a reloading setup that makes rolling out my own ammo a lot cheaper.

Anyways that's a bit about myself and where I am at in the prepping process.

Thats a very good start, first realizing the need to preppare, and then acting upon it. I also do my own reloading, just for pistol, but when I was real active with a gun club, the equipment cost was returned within the first year. On the food end, I always suggest, getting 20 lbs of rice, and 10 lbs of dry beans. These two item will go far to stretch most meals. On the food side, there are a lot on YOUTUBE, I, personaly like watching Jack Spirko alot, and listen to his pod casts. So anyways, again, Good start.

hi redlite. Welcome to the board. I have been a lurker here for awhile and just started posting myself. I am in a similar situation as you at the moment but would like to join a prepper group further north somewhere.

Hello redlite, welcome to the forum and greetings from Northern Ontario. You have taken the first steps in prepping. Well done. As strange as it may sound a Berkey water filter makes the tap water up here drinkable too. You will find the group here interesting, resourceful and courteous. Don't be anxious about posting or asking questions. This is a learning community. I look forward to hearing from you.
