If you follow my posts you will know that I am not a fan of conspiracy theories. Most conspiracy theories are short on facts and high on supposition, propagated by people who are ignorant of the facts and/or have something to gain. That is not to say all conspiracy theories should be dismissed. Some of them turn out to be true.
The crippling dependency on oil in the US was not an accident and it did not develop by popular demand. It was by design and orchestrated by a few savvy, or shall we say greedy corporations controlled by a relatively few people.

There is a link were this is fully explained: http://beforeitsnews.com/conspiracy-theories/2012/06/6-insane-conspiracy-theories-that-actually-happened-2307938.html
and

and:

The facts are that during the period from 1936 to 1950, national City Lines and Pacific City Lines with investment from GM, Firestone Tire, Standard Oil , Phillips Petroleum, Mack Trucks and the Federal Engineering Corporation bought over 100 electric surface-traction systems in 45 cities and converted them into bus operation. Thus killing the electric street car industry.

This is truly a case of manipulation of the masses. Not only were they successful they continue to be today!

I seen that on a documentary... might have been, "who killed the electric car"

very depressing when they are so powerful they don't even have to hide it.

When this was playing out it is doubtful that many people outside "the plan" had any idea what was going on. That is what is frightening. Also I doubt if anyone at the time could have imagined the devastating effect that these decisions would have on the environment

Ottawa once had one of the greatest street car systems on the planet... till that scandal killed it.

It's coming... and it's going to hurt!
