FYI, for those who are looking for reading material, of the useful and also entertaining kind, I have created 2 public lists at the Ottawa Public Library for the books I would recommend: "Prepper Fiction" and "Prepper Non-fiction". These are all resources that are available from the library in either hard-copy, electronic, or sometimes in both.
Here are the hard links:

You don't need to be a card-holding member to view the lists, but you do in order to put a hold or to download the ebooks. If you are further out, your local library might have some of these, and some are available free via the Gutenburg project. Of course, some of these books which are reference books, are better to have on a permanent basis (i.e from a used book store) rather than on loan, but food for thought anyways. I often photocopy pages of particular interest, before returning the books.
Some are well-known in the prepper world, I'm sure, like One Second After, but I also found some more obscure books to be enlightening, like the Katrina post-disaster analysis, Wool/Shift/Sand, and The Pulse. Plus every library a ton of canning & soap making books from the 80s 😉 Not so much on the gun books (it's a Canadian library after all)
(By the way, yes, I am aware it shows my userid & borrowing history..I am ok with that)
Happy reading! 😀
