Ranger I hope you are right and groups address this issue now not after. After the SHTF it won't be possible to get first aid training and finding a DR. then would be next to impossible. Also there is a HUGE difference between knowing first aid and practicing it.
Here is a site showing how to do a proper stitch, From Boston University Hospital. Where do you find the suture needles, not at the local drugstore. I have found suture tapes but that’s about all.

Good to know, since my carpet needle is a bit big for the job, unless I was stiching up an elephant of coarse. 😯

"wound"
What a great topic!
I'm glad I have some first aid training after reading some of the posts and seeing how much of an asset these skills could be in a post-SHTF situation.
I personally think that once the dust settles after the initial turmoil period, we will end of with a mix of wild west and modern technology. We would likely have very little power generation as we will be focusing more on food production and defence measures. I'd like to picture a much more efficient society simply because anything that promotes waste will be a detriment to the group. I also imagine communites would keep themselves relatively small to make cooperation/governing easy, productive and specialised for each community. We would merge modern tech with old style mechanical tech, focusing our education on making the two work in harmony and certainly teaching children to do the same.
I think the best part about this scenario may be the realisation that this is what we've been missing all along. The driving force of the community being to work together for the betterment of everyone, instead of pointless individual and selfish pursuits which essentially have led us to where we are today.
I agree with your vision Joeprepper, merging modern tech with old style mechanical tech. I think it is the most likely outcome. There is a timeline consideration though. Communities would emerge and some would flourish. Also I do believe that down the road from that point there would be conflict between communities. Again it is timeline, just using history as my predictor.
