How will either of these too effect the parts of alternate power source
from panel or wind generator down to the batteries
Do you need too keep all spare parts in a feriday cage

From what I have heard, anything that is hooked up can be fried. Keep the controllers and inverters in the cage.
Here's a great information resource:

It's a long read, but anyone looking for this kind of information should read it!

there is a prepper friend of mine, he works for the US gov't and he gets a lot of toys to play with. he's read all the stuff there is on EMP's (gov't papers, congest reports etc). his strong belief is that solar panels, and the systems will survive. they are shorter runs of wires, and if you have the Z turns in the longer runs (if you're house has wired outlets) then you'll be even safer.
this guy however, has a whole house serge protection, he has protected panels, and all the spare parts too. if anyone knows i'd bet my life on this guy.
his work is copyrighted, i can not share his stuff with you. . . so process as you feel fit.
i have extra panels put away. . .
there are ways to protect you equipment outside of a Faraday cage, but it's not 100% either.
here's some info very old but very well done

the last page shows how to build an outlet with MOV's to clamp off the surge before it hits your "stuff" i know two electrical engineers that believe this will work for EMP, and many people have built these. . . (i have a number of them, with lots of back up parts to build/repair many more)
there is a lot of "unknowns" about EMP's. i met and US army guy who's job for years was working with EMP theory. he firmly believe that most cars would not be hurt (even new ones) and that the repairs would be simple to fix all of them. he FULLY believed this. . . but there are issues with transformers, lack of extras, believe that the damage to them would be really bad/ unrepairable. . . i guess we'll find out if one happens, but so far the effects aren't concrete 100% of the time. but i'm also not an expert so keep that in mind too.

I'm still reading through it, but so far, this is my favorite quote...
"In most industrialized countries, it is not customary for individuals to keep very much in the way of emergency supplies in their homes. In fact, many people who do keep many emergency supplies are regarded with some suspicion, thought to be "survivalists" or some other strange breed of humans. Disasters are frequent enough, though, that any prudent individual should maintain some basic level of self-sufficiency. Most people in industrialized countries see large-scale emergencies happening frequently on television, while maintaining the irrational and completely unwarranted assumption that it will never happen to them. It is the people who do not plan for personal emergencies who ought to be regarded with suspicion as a strange and irrational breed of human."
Solar panel are highly susceptive to damage by CME solar radiation, Why? think of it this way, would you plug in a 12v system into a 220v outlet without a transformer. This is basically what would happen during a CME to solar panels, burnout!
Damage to cars, some will be affect a lot, some very little and some not at all. But those affected only a little might as well be a lot, unless you know enough about electronics to fix it.
Those people who prescribe to "OnStar" with theft protection, you are mostly screwed if a CME hits, because of the satellite that controls your ignition system can be fried and can, almost definitely can stop your vehical dead in its tracks. Smell smoke? that might be the GPS system or radio.
Any antenna collects frequency energy, the larger the antena the more enegry it will collect. 😈

damn it, i have some pretty big antennas lol.
ground the hell out of anything you can.
it's not the answer, but you want that power moving, not jumping out at things that will burn.
