Hey, all;

My name is Brian. I am a 44 year old husband, father, humanist/atheist and "moderate" prepper, living in Orillia, ON. I am employed as a federal correctional officer (13 years), and I have trained in the mind, movement and martial sciences for most of my life. Prior to my career in corrections, I worked in the construction and landscape trades for over 15 years.

My most highly-evolved preparedness skills fall into the realms of restorative justice, functional fitness, self-protection, arrest & control, close protection, weapons (blunt, flexible, edged & ballistic), first aid, wilderness living & survival, construction, horticulture and landscaping. My prepping priorities for 2014 include gardening, fishing & hunting, long-term food storage, bushcraft and firearms training.

I am interested in becoming acquainted with other humanists / atheists with a moderate, practical interest in / perspective on emergency preparedness and self-sufficient living. If you fit this description, leave a reply here, or email me at: gomondojo@gmail.com.

Take good care -- and prepare to prevail! 🙂

Hi Brian!

Seems we have quite a bit in common! I consider myself to be a humanist and I am also an atheist. I am a former police officer (now an at home mom and soap maker), and my husband is still in the field of policing. We live in the Eastern Ontario Region. Our prepping priorities for the rest of 2014 include: getting our new country homestead up and running, long term food storage, alternative energy and continuing to hone our wilderness survival/bushcraft, self protection and first aid skills.

Keep in touch and happy prepping! 🙂
