Villager,

I'd like some more information but am struggling with the inability to post or message people. Who do I bribe to be taken off moderation? lol.

I also just found this thread, currently living in London. I have negative capital at the moment, but not by too far, and I should be working in the green and able to contribute in the near future (the region of a year). Would love to start living the kind of lifestyle I'm hearing proposed here. How many buy-ins do you have so far? Anyone in the London are who'd want to meet up to talk this stuff over?

Hi SDB12,
you now have more than 3 posts and have past the spammer test. You should now have access to all board features.
Enjoy!

I'm in the same area and would be interested in a meet up.

We're about 1/2 way, and have a bit more than 4 weeks left . Now looking for co-mortgage deal while interest is low.
Pending approval, 5k buys and reserves your lifelong place before property co-purchase, no matter how long you take to develop your space.
There's no other comparable opportunity out there, so think it through and move quickly.
PM for more detail.

What kind of paperwork are we looking at here? I mean absolutely no offence when I say this, but I'm very seriously considering basing my life and livelihood on a post I found on the internet... that makes me a little bit nervous.
Also, what level of labour specialization are we looking for?

No offense taken. Mostly legal papers reflecting agreement documents to be signed, if that's what you're referring to? I'm also cautious about what's online, either way. That limits what can be posted, to minimize confusion.
Not sure what you mean by "labour specialization" ? I didn't find a reference in my posts. You're almost at 3 posts where you can send and receive PM's.
Is there a particular meaning in your handle "robo farmer" ? ...like, do you till by gps?...jus' wonderin'

I just like farming and also robots... not that I know anything about robots. In honesty, the last part of my handle is the most accurate way to describe me (my name's Bob)

I haven't seen any reference in the posts here yet (though I'm still taking my time reading through them), but by labour specialization, I mean the possibility of a micro economy. I, for one, would very gladly trade the meat from my hypothetical goats for some of the soap from my neighbour's hypothetical soap making. This makes me a rancher; I also expect to be a part time carpenter and general worker for "hire". I guess my question would be if it's plausible to make a living by trading favours in such a way... 'cause honestly, I'd love to not have a formal job some day.

Thanks for the clarification .I also like farming but not robo-pharming . Absolutely that barter experience will be a big part of the transition first among friends, and then the wider community. There are many things we still have to do with the familiar as we "get there from here", and that's ok. Many of us prefer to work where we live, and that's the intention...but on the way ,we're open for natural interaction/business in our surroundings.
Now, a few more weeks to make our offer. You're welcome to check it out...share a bit more...be a part of the founding possibilities.

For those interested in our described scenario:
We now have a factual offer , accepted , and a reasonable closing date for us on another property. We can always use more help with committed members to purchase and carry the loans, whether individual, or pooled equally with proportionate repayment.
Some curious folks have needed more time to realize what an opportunity this is, and some stumble over their preconceived ideas when viewing what they think is being suggested as contrary to these ideas.
Others "get it" right away, but may have no money to stake their space. Others have more than enough, but thereby imagine that they have more clout than others.
Still more have no grasp of, nor willingness to abide by, ecological restraints or "bylaws", nor beyond-personal considerations to interdependent action relating to the commons , shared by all respectfully.
Added to the mix are those who cannot conceive of the possibility of achieving viable selfgovernance which virtually anyone can at least "live with"..and in the process be open to differing, innovative and inclusive perspectives and results which an individual is not capable of by themselves.
But this appears threatening to some , often translated as losing "individual freedom", so when there appears a very compelling circumstance affecting a whole group, and each one were to maintain that pseudo-posture, and inevitable action, that would be war.
This usually devolves into the classic conceptual polarity of the "Sheeple" or "Mighty Me" and you get the virtually identical facial expressions as a mussolini , spouting "leadership" cliches while the united titanic of civilisation is at risk of ice-cold collision.
No, it's collective wisdom which cleans a system from inside out, and it takes more guts to process than brandishing reckless bravado in the name of freedom.
Anyway, i want to thank those who have resonated with this and so much more, as the most necessary skillset for social survival , and who will hone any other necessary skills, concurrently.
