Just a question - who is from Southern Ontario that would be interested in a meet?

I am not at this point offering to organize one, just seeing the number of people that would be interested. Also if a meet was to take place what topic or topics would you like to see addressed.

Count me in please. As far as topics go... discuss mutual assistance and support. Will the purpose of the "group" be to share ideas and be social?... or... a basis for something more concrete...?

I would. Another member and I tried for a few weeks but things kept getting in the way.

Id say yes, but guarenteed I'll be working or planting trees or disposing of body parts. Make it a weekend if you can.

It would need to be a Saturday when I have had enough time to find someone to take care of my mom. I believe 2 of you work every other weekend so hopefully it's the same every other weekend. Samanatha, I would guess since you work late that later in the day work work better for you. Perfesser sorry I don't remember your shifts.

Would in a restaurant or outside with a cover be better?

Sorry I am a little detail driven, I hate not to be prepared. Lol

Hey oldschool. I work every other weekend. I am working this weekend and off next so this will be my cycle. I would think outside with cover would be best... easier to move around and interact etc. Details are a good thing.

Ok I will take a look at local outdoor areas.

Wondering if we should have a show & tell with a cheap 1 item product exchange with a food or first aid theme.

how about not a cheap item, but how about a homemade/shopmade item!
Much better than cheap useless item, unless it is wind proof matches or water proof matches, they are always good.

items eg.
staff
stove
special stoves
emergency stoves
small first aid kits
whistle
knitted stuff (for those of us who do not knit)
homemade sheath
dehydrated foods
canned foods

just some ideas, please no jokes keep it on track

Sorry I should have been more clear. Of course share the quality items in showing but I was thinking of also an exchange type thing if anyone was interested. Say a small sample of a home made fire starter, the tin can candle holder, dried food or instant meal.

Sounds like a great idea. Perhaps also bring any extra/surplus equipment you have to trade or sell.
