If it's just survival, hunting for food, I'd take a Ruger 10/22.

In a bolt action CZ scoped with iron sights.
In a lever action any 44magnum, I like the Marlins.
12 guage shotgun are great, but how much ammo could one carry.

I was at a local outdoor store yesterday and saw my first 10/22 in a while (they don't last long on the shelf here). It was the new breakdown model. Synthetic and Stainless. With the push of a button, and a twist, the barrel and foregrip separate from the stock and action. The only part that wouldn't fit in my pack was the $425 pricetag 🙂

That's pricy for a takedown 10/22.
I got mine from Le Barons for $370, last October. With a 10% off members card & no tax sale.
Wished i'd picked up 2 of them, instead of 1 at the time.
As the saying goes you snooze, you loose.

yes i picked up a mini 14 on the 20th hard to find item they had a take down$ 389 .Yet to take the mini out but with all the stuff going on in the US was glad to get 1

well going to the the range with the mini .Will see if it is love or hate relation ship as far as price on the take down last shop i was in $400 .Value is in the purchaser .If you like it and they have it at your price buy it .Shop said they got 15 in and 3 days later only 3 left supply and demand LOL

where is that and is it the ruger mini 14 or the ruger 10/22

The take down is 400 at the gun center in Kitchener or they have them at trigers and Bows in Brantford If you can find a mini for 400 i will take 3 LOL .Well out at the range with the mini and it is a love great gun had alot of fun with open sights shooting 2 inch groups .Will scope and see how good it is
