HOW thought that HIRING an American FROM FLORIDA, with NO knowledge of Canada nor Canadian threats, climates, or anything else was a legitimate and worth while proposal?....
There is very little that this "fellow" will be able to speak to that will be applicable in Canada...
Sad, there are SO many CANADIANS, ex military members with tons of experience, knowledge of Canadian Climate and conditions that could have done the same idea...but based on CANADIAN specific concepts and methods....
Curious....has anyone else given any thought to the fact that this is going on at the same time as the PAN AM Games?...the Security for the Games is said to be the largest and most extensive in Canadian History...all the Intelligence contingents are on higher level of alertness, and they have already said any groups of "questionable" or objectionable ideals will be under high scrutiny.....perhaps IF you are going it would be a good chance to practice some alternative appearance means.......facial Recognition and video / still photos will, I am sure be taken.....
and conveniently, many are gathered in ONE SPOT.....

I am not sure if we are facing Canadian specific threats that people in the US are not facing. Climate I can see to some extent with some stretches of the imagination but take a look at the course and the people delivering it. This organization does this at most Prepper Expo's around the US. Not to rock your boat but chances are they know what they are talking about. Look it up. Everything they will be speaking about will be applicable to Canada. Sorry to burst your bubble rant.
They actually tried getting several CANADIANS ex military as well as civilians to deliver what this company does. Several local high profile people in the prepping community with contacts and networks were contacted but there was not serious interest. If you have any contacts to people or organizations who are willing to do the same The Survival Expo will welcome the opportunity to promote Canadians. Step up and contact The Survival Expo.
As far as your PAN AM conspiracy speculations goes I think anyone operating on a public forum has already been exposed in the Governments eyes. If they want to register Preppers this will already have been done via your computer IP. They then have your full ID from your provincially drivers license already. As you said the security is for the PAN AM games. It is not for a Preparedness Expo in Niagara Falls. Only coincidence here is the timing. Are you seriously suggesting that people into Preparedness are a threat to the PAN AM games ?. YOU and I are already on a list somewhere due to us looking at IPN. Not knowing how the government cross lists to find 'interesting" people I am pretty sure looking at IPN online and attending a Preparedness Expo is not enough to land you in trouble. Unless you also frequently look at say KKK, Black Panther, ISIS etc websites. Then you may be interesting and will be singled out for a closer look. The rest of us will stay sane, realize the sky is not falling just because you are on the IPN website or attend a Preparedness Expo. Lets try to avoid the government paranoia and leave that for our Yankee friends.
Loosen up on the Tinfoil hat and come to the Expo. Learn some stuff. Have a great time and meet up with other people in the Preparedness community. I will be looking for you now knowing you will be the person with the fake moustache and wearing a wig :).

4Andrew Brunning bio
Andrew Brunning was first introduced to green building and renewable energy during a 3-year program at Seneca College. Upon graduating, he built up an LED lighting company that focused on energy-saving retrofit programs. He followed this with a Permaculture Design Course (PDC), yoga teacher training, beekeeping, organic gardening and “everything resilient,” including a Sepp Holzer permaculture training course.
Andrew first built a Rocket Mass Heater to heat a greenhouse in the backyard. After producing copious amounts of salad greens during a long, cold winter, he realized the potential of super-efficient and clean wood burning mass heaters for cold climates. Andrew began teaching others how to build these systems during social gatherings and weekend building workshops.
Andrew is a member of the Masonry Heater Association and has completed the Heater Masons Education and Development Program (HMED) and is working towards becoming a Certified Heater Mason.
Efficient and cost effective Rocket & Masonry Heater kits for self-builders are currently the focus of Andrew’s research endeavors, and can be viewed on his website @ RocketMassHeater.ca. He looks forward to seeing you at the next Rocket Mass Heater workshop!

For Rocket Stoves its Andrew Brunning
Amidst the other projects I had ahead of me during a personal advanced skills bugout I had last week - I was intending to build a dakota fire pit which doubled as a rocket stove mass heater in which the excess heat (or exhaust) stretched across 8 feet would act as a primitive heater of sorts to either dry out meat or clothing pending the output. It would have been an interesting experiment which, from my understanding, has never been done before in the bush. For a long term situation in the bush it would make sense to have a system that was twice as efficient at heating while allowing for radiant heat through rocks in addition having an internal shelter that provided for no risk or smoke inhalation.
In any event the concept of rocket stoves in general are interesting given their efficiency for heating and cooking and multiple uses for the byproduct of carbon dioxide.
